2017 Reading Challenge

This year I have challenged myself to read 100 books in the year.  I have also joined NetGalley to read and review books professionally.  I am so excited about the new adventure.  I will be writing the reviews on this blog for all to see.  So, be on the lookout for some interesting new books and their reviews and also to keep up with how I am doing on my challenge for the year.
Happy Reading!

QGOA Quilt Show

May 1-2, 2015 the Quilt Guild of Arlington which I am a member had our annual quilt show. It was a huge success. I entered two quilts in the Susan G Komen donation category.  I have had many friends and family touched by breast cancer and I dedicated these quilts to them.

The first of these quilts I called Twisted Heart. I made it with the little twister tool and most of the quilt had to be pink. So the whole back of the quilt was pink.  I had fun making this quilt.

The next quilt is in the same category but went with different colors. I call it Four Patch Pickle, it is made out of four patches from a swap we did in the guild. I loved the stripe so used it as the border.

They were both miniatures and only my second and third quilts ever so they were not the best but people bought them so I was pleased.

Home Sweet Home ATC Swap

These are some ATC's I made for Kopperhead's Home Sweet Home swap. We had to put some kind of home or something that relates to home on our ATC's for this swap. These are what I came up with.

The first one is of one of my favorite movies. Home Alone. I remember watching this movie and being from a big family wishing I could stay home alone sometimes. Besides it is hilarious!!

This next one I wanted something for a new home. The background is glossy cardstock with alcohol inks I put a little of the gold and is shines so pretty, I love the effect.

The next ATC is a tribute to Sweet Home Alabama...it is a picture of a cute boy sleeping with his room all decorated with Alabama decorations.

This ATC is one of my favorites. I used the blue and silver alcohol inks and swirled it to give it a wave look like the sea. I always wanted to live in a lighthouse, I just think they represent strength that withstands storms and guides people home.

Altered Paintcan

Here is an altered paintcan for my partner in Gibbs4...ScrappinDeb. She loves Tinkerbell, so I did the can in Tinkerbell and her favorite colors yellow and blue. I hope she likes it.

This is a mini album I made out of recycled bill envelopes.

This is an altered notebook.

I altered this box and stuffed it will die cuts ready to be used for Debbie.

Kopperheads August Swap-Trees

I created this card for Kopperheads Trees Swap. We had to use trees on some project so I created this gate fold card. I embossed the tree and pagoda with silver, on the background I used perfect pearls...it was my first time using them and loved it.

Gina's Card Swap-October

This is a card for Gina's Card Swap-October-Christmas. I really like blue and white for Christmas colors and snowflakes. I used some stickles on the card but it didn't show up so well.
